Greetings to you all greatly beloved of God and welcome to another episode of our daily study of the Scriptures. We bless the name of the Lord God for the gift of life and for His benefits on us each new day. Praise be to God!
In our today’s episode 600, we shall be examining Joel Chapter 3 titled:
Three Nations Fingered For Ripping Off The Nation Of Israel Of Their Resources
Many Bible scholars have debated on the timing of the prophecies that Prophet Joel wrote down in this chapter and many have understood it to relate to post-resurrection times end times, when God shall finally deliver his people from all their adversaries.
According to verse 1, “in those days, and in that time,” is a continuation of Joel’s statement in Chapter 2:28, where he says “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.
Part of the events that would happen in those days is the returning of the people of Judah from captivity thereby making them prosperous again.
In verse 2, he talks about gathering all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat…
There is no such thing as the valley of Jehoshaphat in the land of Judah.
Instead, Prophet Joel was simply talking symbolically to mean those nations that plundered God’s people would be brought to a valley of judgement. They would be judged.
Who were these nations fingered by Joel?
Tyre and Sidon (both in Lebanon) and all the regions of Philistia.
Verses 3-6 enumerated the terrible things they did to God’s people. The above nations had frequently entered into the territories of Israel; and divided among themselves their lands.
While the Jews were in captivity, many of the land of the Jews were taken over, and occupied by Tyre, Sidon the Philistines, and other nations that bordered on Judea.
But God promised His people a full restoration and those who took them captive and took over their possessions and resources, would be judged.
Then in verse 13, he says, put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
You will find the above statement also in the book of Revelation 14:14-20 also uses this image of the winepress of the wrath of God over the wickedness of the wicked.
Now is the time for everyone to decide for Christ Jesus so that they too will not find themselves in the valley of judgement on the last days.
The truth is that if you decide for Christ now and say yes to Him, you will be saved and you will not come unto judgement. Please, read John 5:24
Verse 16 through to the end describe the details of the restoration that God perfected in the lives of His people.
First ask yourself this question: Are you God’s people? Continue to ponder over this.
To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.
Let’s pray:
In any way someone reading this might have been ripped off their valuables, I declare restoration in multiple folds for you, in Jesus name.
Fear not for God has been gracious unto you. Rejoice and be glad for the Lord God will supply you with the right amount of resources that you need to live a meaningful life. You will not lack any good thing. No matter how hard the economy may appear to be, the Lord will make a way for you and you will not be stranded, in Jesus name.
Life after this season of pandemic will be glittering for you, your pasture will become green and your trees will bear so many fruits with more than enough to give to others. Your business will blossom again. Your career, financial, marital and your spiritual life will take a great leap into a higher level, in Jesus name.
