Greetings to you all greatly beloved of God and welcome to another episode of our daily study of the Scriptures. We bless the name of the Lord God for the gift of life and for His benefits on us each new day. Praise be to God!
In our today’s episode 597, we shall be examining Hosea Chapter 14 titled:
This Will Make You Understand That Repentance Brings About Restoration
So far, we have come to the conclusion of the book of Hosea. You will observe that the book is filled with both judgement and mercy.
At this stage in chapter 14, the people of Israel were already suffering in captivity because of their rejection of God and therefore, Prophet Hosea was trying to plead with them to consider repenting from their stubbornness and call upon God for His intervention.
To show that he was ready to help them get back into a smooth relationship with God, He went further by providing them with a prayer template they could use and here is the excerpt:
“Forgive all our sins and accept our prayer, and we will praise you as we have promised. 3Assyria can never save us, and war horses cannot protect us. We will never again say to our idols that they are our God. O Lord, you show mercy to those who have no one else to turn to.” Hosea 14:2-3
Then Hosea did not stop there. He went further to provide them with what the Lord was planning on doing for them as a response to their prayers, having faced so much already in captivity. It was not a pleasant experience at all.
Here is an excerpt of God’s plan for the people:
4 The Lord says, “I will bring my people back to me. I will love them with all my heart; no longer am I angry with them.
5 I will be to the people of Israel like rain in a dry land. They will blossom like flowers; they will be firmly rooted like the trees of Lebanon.
6 They will be alive with new growth, and beautiful like olive trees. They will be fragrant like the cedars of Lebanon.
Hosea 14:4-6 GNT
This is what Christ came to do for everyone that believes, thereby winning the nations back to Himself and restoring His relationship with them.
No wonder the Bible says, How can I give you up? How can I abandon you? My heart will not let me do it. My Love for you is too strong…Hosea 11:8 corroborated by Heb 13:5b
All you need do is call upon God. Tell Him the area where you need help. Are you struggling with a particular habit or addiction? Have you been nocked down in life and you are finding it difficult to get up? Have you thought that you have offended God in so many ways that you think God may not forgive you?
The truth is God’s arms are widely open to receive you. All you need do is let Him.
Let me close with Apostle Paul’s message below:
9 If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. 10 For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved. 11 The scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” 12 This includes everyone, because there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles; God is the same Lord of all and richly blesses all who call to him. 13 As the scripture says, “Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved.”
Romans 10:9-13 (GNT)
To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.
Let’s pray:
In any way life might have knocked you down really hard, the Lord God will come to your rescue, pick you up and grant you lasting peace and restoration, in Jesus name.
Because you have cherished the Word of God, the Lord God will make your way prosperous. You will not lack anything good. Receive amazing and creative ideas to generate wealth, enough to bless other people with, in Jesus name.
I declare you are connected permanently to the Infinite source of supply from God.
From now on, begin to hear God speak to you in a way that you will understand. No ambiguity, no confusion in your life, in Jesus name.
