STUDYING AND UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE – PART 434
Isaiah Chapter 47
Isaiah 47:1-4 TPT
“Get down from your throne and sit in the dust, O Miss Babylon! Sit on the ground where you belong, not on a throne, O Miss Chaldea! For you will never be described again as ‘delicate and dainty.’
[2] Take off your pretty veil; take two millstones and grind grain. Lift your skirt, bare your legs, and wade through the rivers.
[3] Your humiliating nakedness will be uncovered, your shame exposed and seen by all. I will take vengeance and let no one intercede for you.”
[4] We have a Redeemer. Yahweh is his name, the Commander of Angel Armies, the Holy One of Israel!
This Chapter is about an ode that Prophet Isaiah wrote to describe the fall of Babylon.
Represented as a woman that has been brought down on her knees (humbled), Isaiah describes her new status from being a very rich, bold and powerful woman to subjugated and humiliated slave. The same level of humiliation she put upon the Israelites – that’s pay back time.
The Babylonian empire thought they were the only world power. They thought they could inflict torture and suffering on God’s people.
Yes, the Israelites sinned against God and they reaped the consequences of their disobedience, but then, instead of showing them mercy, Babylon added salt to their injury.
God decided to intervene and rescue His people. Hence, the reason He allowed Cyrus to invade and conqure them.
Babylon lost her position as the world power. She lost her treasures. She lost even her business allies – those nations engaging in business transactions with them cut off their business relationships.
Isaiah 47:15 TPT
These traders, with whom you have dealt since your youth, will do nothing but disappoint you. Each has wandered off to his own way- there is no one left to rescue you!
Babylon fell! What a pity!
The same thing has happened to the devil already also. The devil had in the past taken so many people hostage in the captivity of sin.
But thanks be to God, who sent the Messiah to rescue us from the jaw of death and eternal damnation. The moment Christ showed up, the satan fell. He was stripped of his power.
Jesus said it Himself…
Luke 10:17-18
[17]And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
[18]And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Apostle Paul has something very important to say also…
Colossians 2:13-15 TPT
This “realm of death” describes our former state, for we were held in sin’s grasp. But now, we’ve been resurrected out of that “realm of death” never to return, for we are forever alive and forgiven of all our sins!
[14] He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all-our sins, our stained soul-he deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation.
[15] Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his!
Those are the testimonies of every believer in Christ…are you living in this reality already?
To be continued…Praise God.
Our prayers for everyone on this platform:
By the authority in the name of Jesus Christ,
👉Every demonic accusation and legalism that the devil is planning or has planned to use to stain your record, is cancelled, in Jesus name.
👉Any evil indictment and arrest warrant from the pit of hell against you is hereby torn into pieces and destroyed, in Jesus name.
👉You are totally vindicated in that matter, in Jesus name.
👉Remember, sin has no power over you anymore. Continue to live in that reality of total victory and rejoice evermore.
