Good morning Saints in Christ.
We give glory to God for the gift of another new day, we thank God for the privilege of life and for His unending mercy and grace upon us always. Praise God!
Isaiah Chapter 43 continued…
Isaiah 43:5-8 KJV
Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
Again in verse 5 above, we see the words “fear not” repeated for emphasis purpose. We have looked into the word fear in our previous study. Every believer has nothing to fear. We work and walk by faith not fear.
[6] I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth.
Let’s remember that the Jews were taken captive to Babylon and they were also scattered to various countries during the time of invasion. Isaiah is here prophesying about their return to their land and also to God.
This figuratively represents the work of redemption to bring lost souls back to God at Salvation. Christ did this perfectly.
Luke 19:10
[10]For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Also this…
Ephesians 2:5-6
[5]Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
[6]And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Now, let’s continue into verse 7 of Isaiah 43.
[7] Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
The reason we are called by the name of God is because He is our Father, our Creator. Just like we bear the surname of our earthly father, we also bear the name of the Lord and as a result, He will stop at nothing until He has saved us completely and eternally, which He did already in Christ Jesus.
[8] Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.
We have looked into the meaning of the words “the blind people” in our previous study, especially in Isaiah 42:19 where Isaiah made reference to “blind servants.”
He was not talking about being blind physically. He was rather talking about those who have closed their minds against the true Gospel or the Word of God. They have rejected the Truth.
He calls them to come and prove their point whether they were right or wrong in rejecting the true Word of God.
Unfortunately, they have eyes but couldn’t see and have ears but couldn’t hear…spiritually speaking.
Isaiah also challenges all nations, who have no regard for God to also present their case. He’s fond of doing this in his writings.
Isaiah 43:9 KJVS
Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.
Something dramatic and miraculous happened in verse 10 where Isaiah suddenly called them God’s servants.
It means none of them had any case to present. They couldn’t defend their lies or errors and so were transformed by the true God. Hence, the statements in verses 10-12.
Isaiah 43:10-12 KJVS
Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Note: based on the above, even the worst sinner can eventually become a carrier of the Gospel – a witness.
[11] I, even I, am the Lord ; and beside me there is no saviour.
[12] I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.
To be continued…Praise God.
