Good morning People of God in Christ Jesus.
We give glory to God for the gift of another brand new week, we thank God for the privilege of life and for His unending mercy and grace upon us always. Praise God!
Isaiah Chapter 42 continued…
We will continue from verse 5 today.
Isaiah 42:5-9
[5]Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
[6]I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles.
People were shocked when God fulfilled this prophecy in the house of Cornelius (Gentile), when they were filled with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 10:44-45 KJV
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
[45] And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Also in Acts 13:47, you will all find the fulfillment of these prophecies.
Then Apostle Paul also mentioned it in his Epistle to the Galatians.
Galatians 3:13-14 KJV
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
[14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Now, let’s continue with Isaiah 42.
[7]To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
Jesus Christ, the Messiah Himself repeated the above statement in His mission statement in Luke 4:18 that we read yesterday.
Still on Isaiah 42…
[8]I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
[9]Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
The above verses are still referring figuratively to the Messiah. God is the only Being that is capable of making promises and bringing them to fulfilment.
And He does not need graven images before He can be accessed or worshipped. Paul said it in Acts.
Acts 17:25 KJV
Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
Now, for these amazing and great things that God said the Messiah would come to do as prophesied, Isaiah enjoined his audience to give songs of praise and glory to the Lord.
Isaiah 42:10-12
[10]Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
[11]Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
[12]Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
To be continued…Praise God.
