STUDYING AND UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE – PART 401
The Book of Isaiah Chapter 33 concluded.
From verse 7 downward, Prophet Isaiah switches back to judgement again. By the time the end shall come, when the judgement of God shall begin, the whole earth will be brought low before Him and only God would be glorified.
He further said something touching that everyone, especially those who are yet to receive Salvation need to ruminate over. Let’s read verse 14.
Isaiah 33:14 KJV
The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
You can imagine, sinners will be afraid. Those who have been rebellious and beating their chest that there is nothing like end time. That there is nothing like the judgement of God on the last day and also hypocrites – those claiming to be believers but are not. Fear will grip all of them.
Nobody will be able to withstand the fiery judgement of God. You can’t bribe your way out of it unless you repent now and receive the Love of God expressed in the Message of Salvation.
That’s why the writer of Hebrew talks about God as a consuming fire. He was actually referring to the fiery judgement of God on the last day, using fire as a symbol of it.
However, as fear is gripping the heart of sinners, let’s see what would happen to the righteous.
Isaiah 33:15-17 KJV
He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
[16] He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
[17] Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.
No wonder the Psalmist says:
Psalm 24:3-6 KJV
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord ? or who shall stand in his holy place?
[4] He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
[5] He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
[6] This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
In other words, those who have been washed in the blood of the Lamb (Christ), will be seated and enthroned with Him in the heavenly realm.
As believers, on that Day, we will see Him as He is, we will be like Him and till then, we will continue to constantly receive from Him supernatural supply of spiritual bread and living water to sustain us.
1 John 3:2
[2]Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Ephesians 1:3
[3]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Ephesians 2:6
[6]And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Hallelujah…glory be to God…Amen!
