The Book of Isaiah 27 included;
Good morning Believers in Christ Jesus.
We give glory to God for the gift of another new day, for the privilege of life and for God’s unending mercy and grace upon us always. Praise God!
We learnt yesterday from Isaiah’s prophecies about how the Leviathan (the crooked and piercing serpent) and also the dragon of the sea would be punished by the Sword of the Lord.
Those words were used figuratively to represent how satan employed the services of great potentates, enemies and persecutors of the people of God to fulfil his mission.
Isaiah said they would be punished by the Sword of the Lord, which Apostle Paul calls the Sword of the Spirit – the Word of God.
How can we make use of this Sword? Apostle Paul said we must first take it.
Ephesians 6:17
[17]And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
If you notice the statement of Paul above, he started with taking the helmet of Salvation first, meaning that only a saved soul can effectively wield the Sword of the Spirit.
The word 👉 “take” in Strong’s Greek Lexicon is transliterated as “dechomai,” which has similar meaning as the word “lambanō.”
They are both action words, but the latter is active while the former is passive.
Meaning: to take hold of or to seize violently. To receive something. As the rightly divided Word of God – The Message of Christ is preached, you take hold of it without doubting in your mind; you receive it by faith.
No wonder Jesus said it Himself in Matt 11:12
[12]And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
When you acurately study the Word of God and make it part of your day to day living, it becomes a very strong weapon in your mind and in your hand to populate the Kingdom of God and to subjugate satanic forces and his kingdom.
Let’s quickly wind up the remaining parts of Isaiah 27.
God revealed to Isaiah how He would rather clean up His people people and restore them instead of punishing them like the Leviathan and sea dragon.
That’s why He calls them unto repentance, because He has shown them mercy and truly they would hear and receive the Message and worship the Lord.
To be continued…Praise God.
Let’s declare this together:
I am a product of God’s righteousness. I see God as He sees and knows me in Christ. No more ambiguities. No misconceptions. No identity crises in my life and I cast down every imagination, ideologies and traditions of men that want to stand against this truth in my life, in Jesus name. Amen!
Bible readings for today: Matthew Chapters 5, 6 & 7 with Psalm 61
I call you blessed now and always.
