Good day Saints in Christ Jesus and welcome to another new day. Glory to God for the gift of life.
Part 484 of our series of studying and understanding the Bible.
Still within the subject of Jeremiah’s journey into the Prophetic, in Chapter 1 of the Book of Jeremiah, we will continue with the signs you must pay attention to in order to confirm whether you are treading the path of a Prophet or any of the ministry offices or not.
We stopped at no 4 in the previous post. Now, let’s dive deeper.
- Music is another sign you need to pay attention to. You always love to sing or listen to inspiring Gospel songs. The truth is that Prophets love music even if they don’t know how to sing, they love listening to music. It’s part of the live wire of every ministry. A typical example is David (1Samuel 16:14-23). Even before he became King, he was already playing his harp. I believe we have all read about his story. He was a musician, a King and also a Prophet.
The Bible says in Ephesians 5:18-20
[18]And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
[19]Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
[20]Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
- Another sign is when you always have extra grace for prayers, even if others are going for once per day, you see yourself always praying multiple times in a day and many times you even speak in tongues while walking, working, driving or doing domestic chores. Prayer has become food for you to the point that you love supplicating on behalf of others during prayers. Then it’s an indication you are treading the prophetic path.
- Related to 6 above, is when you have passion for the Word of God. When you are always having special and uncommon moments of intimacy with God and you see yourself having extra grace to correctly interpret the Word of God to the point that people like listening to you when dissecting the Word of God. Combining 6 and 7 is a very powerful indicator and it should be a fundamental attribute of every Believer too.
If you notice Jesus, whenever He wasn’t teaching people, you will see Him praying somewhere in the mountains or solitary places. Same applies to all the Prophets in the Bible. In fact, John The Baptist had the wilderness for his house.
- Love is another major sign. Especially if you are the type that love sinners but you hate their sins and various forms of immorality they commit (Heb 1:9), to the point that you usually ask yourself is there anything else I can do to get these people saved? You see yourself exhibiting almost all the attributes of God towards sinners, that means you are a Prophet in the making.
Apostle Paul says something similar here Romans 10:1
[1]Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Remember, before he got born again, God has already seen that attribute in him that he was zealous and always had passion for whatever cause committed into his hands. So, God knew he would perform excellent well too if the Gospel is committed into his hands. Paul has always been people-oriented.
Let’s pause here for now and we will continue with the next batch of the list in our next post.
Stay tuned and stay blessed in Christ Jesus.
