In our today’s episode 520 of studying and understanding the Bible, we shall be examining Jeremiah Chapter 30 titled:
Prophet Advices The People, Be Hopeful. Here Is Why…
In this chapter, Prophet Jeremiah can be seen giving people a genuine reason for them to be hopeful and optimistic. He encouraged them not to give up as their Salvation has been well planned by God. All they needed to do is trust Him.
From various captivities ranging from the Assyrian, Babylonian, Chaldean up to the Roman captivity. Truly, the Israelites have suffered in the hands of their various slave masters.
Verse 5 even gave us some descriptions of their troubles such as the cry of terror, fear, and lack of peace. Everyone looked pale and downcast. Prophet Jeremiah saw all these and decided to warn them ahead, but because they refused to listen to him, that’s why all those prophecies eventually came to pass.
Nevertheless, here we see more prophecies about the rescue mission planned for them after they might have finished serving their 70-year term. Read verses 8-11
This shows that God still loves them despite their terrible mistakes and therefore, they were advised to be hopeful and optimistic as help is on the way.
Although, some physical manifestations of the restoration promised had already taken place which we read in the book of Nehemiah in our past studies. Jerusalem was rebuilt and the Jews returned to their own land.
Also, it’s interesting to note according to the prophetic promise made in verses 16-20, those who captured them and killed most of them were eventually destroyed by other nations. For example, the Assyrians were obliterated by the Babylonians; the Babylonians were annihilated by the Medes and Persians; the Egyptians and Persians were crushed by the Greeks, during the rule of Alexander. The Jews were however saved.
This salvation plan is a shadow of the ultimate salvation under the Messiah, where mankind that has been under the captivity of the devil, will be totally rescued.
This Salvation was effected when Christ died and resurrected and on the last day, when the Lord shall appear and restore God’s Kingdom on earth. The old earth and old heavens shall be wiped off ushering in new earth and new heaven. This is still in the future and we have repeatedly preached that the only passport to gain access to that Kingdom of God is through Salvation.
The question is: Are you truly saved? Make that decision now. Remember, Christ is our ultimate rescue from any form of satanic bondage. The Bible says…
Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his!
Col 2:15 The Passion Translation
So, whatever you may be passing through at the moment has an expiry date. It’s a phase which is going to form part of your success stories and it will pass. You will surely laugh in the end. Cheer up!
To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.
