Good day Saints in Christ Jesus. You are all welcome to another new day. Glory to God for the gift of life.
Here is Part 488 of our series of studying and understanding the Bible.
Today we will be looking at how Jeremiah was prepared for his prophetic assignment.
Let’s read some previous verses.
Jeremiah 1:4-6 [4]Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying.
[5]Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
[6]Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
Let me quickly put this forward.
Nobody came to this world by accident, irrespective of the method of birth or the type of parent involved.
It could be through what some people usually call unexpected pregnancies etc. The moment a child is born into this world, he or she has a purpose to fulfil and must be given the chance. He or she must not be treated as nobody.
Everybody, I mean every life is precious in God’s eyes. So, God wanted Jeremiah to know that the prophetic assignment upon his destiny didn’t just come when he was a youth.
Rather, it was a pre-ordained assignment from heaven, even before he was born. He came forth from God’s Plan and Blueprint.
Jeremiah needed to hear that fact from God so that he would know how to align his own will to conform with God’s ultimate Will.
Before he began his assignment, God knew he needed to be prepared for it and He did something very crucial and fundamental to every believer and most importantly every ministry office and gift.
Let’s read…
Jeremiah 1:8-10
[8]Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
[9]Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
[10]See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
Let’s quickly look at the syntax of the above verse:
Removal of fear.
Replacement of fear with The Word of God.
Then the launch.
Fear is a very tricky and dangerous tool in the hand of the devil to prevent people from fulfilling their destiny (the purpose of God) on earth.
That’s why you will notice every Angel visiting people in the Bible always starts their messages with “Fear Not” or “Be not afraid” and you will see this repeatedly said all over the Scriptures both old and new testaments.
Some Bible scholars even opined that there are 365 “fear nots” in the Bible meaning that each day in a year has a “fear not” attached to it.
Although I have finished reading the Bible within one year before, but I have not done my research on how many “fear not” we have in the Bible. Nevertheless, it sounds great right?
The bottom line is that we must not allow fear get in our way and prevent us from fulfilling God’s purpose on earth.
Instead of fear, we must always devour the Word of God. That’s the only divine manual needed for our spiritual growth and ministry fulfilment. And we must be humble and obedient enough to be discipled in order to be well prepared for the assignment.
Let’s quickly look at how Apostle Paul was prepared before his launch:
Galatians 1:15-24 TPT But then God called me by his grace; and in love, he chose me from my birth to be his.
[16] God’s grace unveiled his Son in me so that I would proclaim him to the non-Jewish people of the world. After I had this encounter I kept it a secret for some time, sharing it with no one.
[17] And I chose not to run to Jerusalem to try to impress those who had become apostles before me. Instead, I went away into the Arabian Desert for a season until I returned to Damascus, where I had first encountered Jesus.
[18] I remained there for three years until I eventually went up to Jerusalem and met the apostle Peter and stayed with him for a couple of weeks so I could get to know him better.
[19] The only other apostle I met during that time was James, the Lord’s brother.
[20] Everything I’m describing to you I confess before God is the absolute truth.
[21] After my stay in Jerusalem, I went to Syria and southeast Turkey,
[22] but remained unknown to the Jewish believers in Judea.
[23] The only thing they heard about me was this: “Our former enemy, who once brutally persecuted us, is now preaching the good news of the faith that he was once obsessed with destroying!”
[24] Because of the transformation that took place in my life, they praised God even more!
We will continue from here in our next post by God’s grace. Stay tuned and stay blessed in Christ Jesus.
