Good day Saints of God in Christ Jesus. You are all welcome to another new day. Glory to God for the gift of life.
In our today’s episode 537 of studying and understanding the Bible, we shall be examining three chapters today in the book of Jeremiah titled:
More Nations Received Judgement, These Are Their Names And What They Did
The chapters we will be looking at today are chapters 47, 48 and 49, which provide us with accounts of Jeremiah’s prophecies of God’s judgement against the following nations:
Philistines (Chapter 47):
What was their sin that they refused to repent from?
You will see their sins mentioned by Prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 25:15 that they took revenge on their age long enemies and engage in hatred.
Joel 3:4 also corroborated Ezekiel’s statement.
Amos 1:6 says they sold a whole nation into slavery. That’s terrible.
Moab – Chapter 48
What was their sin that they refused to repent from?
Amos 2:1 provides a clue. They sinned again and again and they even used a King’s bone for their idolatry rituals by burning it into ashes. In short, these people were idolaters.
Zephaniah 2:8; Ezekiel 25:8 and Isaiah 15 also prophesied about Moab.
The Nation of Ammon – Chapter 49
These people were so cruel that they were killing innocent souls. They were known for cutting pregnant women’s wombs and bringing out their babies. Prophet Amos says something about that in Amos 1:13
They were also known for taunting the Israelites and has been terrorising them. Ezekiel 21:28
Others are Edom, Damascus, tribe of Kedar and the city of Hazor, the nation of Elam.
All these nations did terrible things to God and humanity and they were given the chance to repent but they were hardened in their hearts.
When the pay back time fully came, they couldn’t escape it.
That’s what will happen on the judgement day too.
God is giving everyone the chance to repent now. Apostle Peter emphasized this in 2Peter 3:9-18
Please read and meditate on the verses.
To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.
Let us pray.
Please declare the followings with me:
I shall not be condemned because I have the life of God in Christ Jesus. I operate in the authority of Christ and I pull down all evil strongholds targeted against me and my family, in Jesus name.
