Judgement Against Lying Prophets For Flattering The People

Good day Saints in Christ Jesus. You are all welcome to another new day. Glory to God for the gift of life.

In our today’s episode 550 of studying and understanding the Bible, we shall be looking into the book of Ezekiel Chapter 13 titled:

Judgement Against Lying Prophets For Flattering The People

We can see from this chapter how Prophet Ezekiel pronounced substantial rulings against the lying prophets who were in the habit of flattering the people, even in the state of their sins. Instead of bringing the people of Israel to repentance, they were busy giving them false hopes that what Ezekiel prophesied about will never happen and even if it would happen, it’s going to be in the distant future.

It’s worrisome to note that among these false prophets, there were male and female.

So, the first 16 verses were directed to the male false prophets, while the remaining verses 17 to 23 were directed to their female counterparts (false prophetesses).

What did Ezekiel say concerning them?

Prophet Ezekiel compared their activities with putting up a wall of loose stones and then these false prophets came and helped them to cover the loose walls with white wash (another word for lime plaster or overlay).

Ezekiel then told them their white-washed loose walls would collapse in no time, after being hit with a torrent of heavy rainfall and storm.

There is a Yoruba proverb that says: “ile ti a ba fi ito mo, iri ni yoo woo” meaning that “a house built with saliva, will fall apart when hit by morning dew”

That is exactly how those false prophets would end their lives according to Prophet Ezekiel, if they refuse to repent.

The torrential rainfall with wind that would crumble their whitewashed walls were the Babylonians that eventually invaded their land and took them captive.

The same measure of judgement was meted out to the false prophetesses also, who were busy practising empty rituals and false predictions, in order to boost their own profit through brainwashing and deceit.

Do we still have such people in our dispensation today?

Kindly comment below your thoughts or your experience with any of them if any.

I have encountered several of them. The truth is, if you are rooted with the Word of God, it will be very easy to detect them.

They are the one causing chaos in homes turning husbands against their wives, turning children against their mothers, and turning siblings against each other, just for one sole reason – to gain access to your bank account and if care is not taken, they will drain you dry.

Please, share your experience in the comment section and let others learn too.

To be continued…stay tuned and stay blessed.

Let us pray:

I declare no one on this platform will fall into the hands of false prophets or pastors, in Jesus name.

I declare the eyes of your understanding are opened and the ability to discern the things of the Spirit is released unto you, in Jesus name.

That challenge that may likely cause you to fall into the hands of false prophets or pastors, I declare, begin to receive immediate solutions to them. The Lord God will coordinate circumstances to favour you, in Jesus name.
