He came in form of a servant, beaten and smitten for our sake.
Good morning Believers in Christ Jesus.

STUDYING AND UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE – PART 441
Isaiah Chapter 50 continued…
Having explained how the Jews rejected God when God came to them, Prophet Isaiah went further to describe the personality that God took to come to man, which is the form of a servant, who was ready to hear what His Father was ready to say.
Let’s read how Prophet Isaiah prophetically said the words of the Messiah…
Isaiah 50:4-6
[4]The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
[5]The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
Note: The above statement shows how submissive, humble and obedient the Messiah was to the Father in executing God’s plan to save man.
In His submission and humility, He offered His back to be flogged and His cheeks stricken. Let’s read…
[6]I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Note: Isaiah simply gives us an overview of Christ’s suffering on our behalf and what he prophesied about was already fulfilled in the Gospels.
Let’s start with Matthew in Matthew 26:67-68 KJV
Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, [68] Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
And then Luke…
Luke 22:63-65
[63]And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.
[64]And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
[65]And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
Also Mark 15:19
[19]And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.
What a painful suffering that Jesus had to go through in order to take away our sins.
It will shock you to know that what the writers of the Gospel recorded were far less than what Jesus Christ actually went through.
I want us to pay attention to the statement: “I gave my back…”
It means our Messiah took this decision voluntarily because of His Love for us all.
Paul also wrote about this in his letter to the Philippians.
Philippians 2:6-11
[6]Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
[7]But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
[8]And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
[9]Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
[10]That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
[11]And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
With this kind of Love expressed in this format, how will someone say God has forsaken or abandoned him or her?
If He can lay down His life for us, definitely, there is nothing else that He can’t give us or do for us.
To be continued…Praise God.
