Good day Beloved of God in Christ Jesus and welcome to another new day. Glory to God for the gift of life.
This is part 483 of our series of studying and understanding the Bible, where we are still considering the Book of Jeremiah Chapter 1.
We must understand this fact that irrespective of your background, academic achievements, oratory capability, profession, etc, God can still use you for His agenda on earth. Essentially, there is no discrimination with God when it comes to who to use. He calls and uses anyone.
After all, both Elisha and Amos were Shepherds, Isaiah was a learned palace advisor (he worked with kings and various political office holders, Ezekiel was a Priest etc.
In our dispensation, a lawyer, banker, engineer, medical doctor, businessman, taxi driver, bike rider, students etc, can function in any of the five fold ministries.
However, your availability and readiness is very key in fulfilling that assignment to God’s satisfaction. If God’s call is upon you, never make any excuses at all like Jeremiah did.
Jeremiah 1:6-7
[6]Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
[7]But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
Paul said similar thing to Timothy in… 1Tim 4:12
Let no man make little of you because you are young, but be an example to the church in Word, in behaviour, in love, in faith, in holy living.
This reminds me of the time I was ordained an evangelist over 14 years ago. We were four at that time and I was the youngest among them, but to the glory of God, I could still recollect a lot of mind blowing testimonies of many wonders that God did through my ministrations in places I was invited to minister. It was then I noticed I could also function in other offices like prophetic, teaching and pastoring (I was in charge of youths then) etc.
If I had looked down on myself then being a man of few words and reserved, I wouldn’t be where I am today. We thank God for His grace.
My dear reader, the truth is, God wants to use you in ways beyond your wildest imaginations and you might have been seeing some signs pointing to that fact for some times now.
In any way you may have been seeing any of the following signs, please pay attention to them carefully. I will start with the commonest one:
- You are always having dreams or seeing visions consistently and they always come to pass. I am not talking about nightmares that people have as a result of what they have filled their minds with during the day.
Rather, I am talking about real dreams and visions filled with purposeful messages either in form of mental images during sleep (dreams) or something you gaze at supernaturally when not asleep (vision), which are from God either to you directly or meant for someone else. If you find yourself in this position, then you are not far from becoming a vessel that God will use for His end time assignment.
Job spoke about the importance of dreams and how men don’t understand it.
Job 33:14-16
[14]For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
[15]In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
[16]Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
Some examples of those God has spoken to through dreams and visions are: Joseph (Gen 37:1-44); Apostle Paul (Acts 16:9-15); Apostle Peter in Acts 10:9-16.
God helping us, I will make a separate post on dreams, visions etc, but I don’t know what time yet. But I believe it will happen soon either from me or from my wife. So, watch this space always.
Nevertheless, we must be careful enough to always weigh the dreams and visions we have and still place them side by side with the Word of God and whenever there is any contradictions, those dreams and visions must be trashed. The reason is because, sometimes, our mind or even the devil can play some tricks and we must be careful not to fall victim.
- Another sign is when you are the type that does not follow statu quo or traditions of men. Note that Eagles are used to symbolize the prophetic office and gift and one of the major attributes of an eagle is its ability to soar against the wind. Other birds may fly along in the wine’s direction, but Eagles don’t. Rather they soar against it. That’s why they are different – they see things differently and act differently.
- When you are very sensitive to things happening around you to the point that you can easily sense danger before they happen. With this, you have been able to warn people ahead of time about any evil occurrence. Then, you are already treading the path towards the prophetic.
- If you are the type that usually speak and it comes to pass to the point that you are even afraid to speak negative things so that it won’t affect you or people around you, because you have noticed your words usually carry some special power in bringing into existence what was not in existence before. Yes, it’s true. It’s a special gift that God has given to every human being that knows God and the power of His Word revealed in Christ. Unfortunately, only few people understand this secret of the Kingdom that you can pronounce things invisible to become a reality. If you know how to use this, then God will definitely use you for greater works.
Elijah understood this secret and he made use of it.
1 Kings 17:1
[1]And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
Jesus Himself applied this authority on the fig tree and it dried up. Mark 11:12-25. The context here does not teach us to be cursing people. Rather, Jesus was indirectly revealing to us the kind of authority that we carry as children of God. He also used that to teach the subject of faith, especially when praying.
Please, pay attention to the words of your mouth and let it conform to God’s Word and Christ’s examples.
