Many people have claimed that Christians serve three Gods. Do Not Be Confused. We do not have three Gods. He is still the same God. He only manifested in three different forms. He did that for the following purposes or reasons:
During creation, He manifested as the Creator, our Father who spoke His Word, then heaven and earth and everything in it were created. He said “be” and everything we see came into existence.
Second Dispensation/Manifestation
During the redemption of man from sin, He manifested in human form (Christ) to solve man’s sin problem.
Some people have been debating why can’t God simply forgive mankind of their sins without anyone dying on the cross? Why can’t God just forgive and let go since He is a loving and caring God, He loves us unconditionally and Colossians 3:13 says, He forgives freely?
The problem with this method is that God cannot break His words. He is not a man that should lie. Yes, He forgives freely but He needed to fulfil the Scriptures to pay for man’s sins. This is to prove that He is a just God that loves justice and due process.
Let’s not forget that it was man that sinned and man was supposed to pay for their sins, based on what has been declared from the beginning:
“the day you eat it, you shall die.” Gen 2:17
Another subject of debate has been why didn’t Adam and Eve die after disobeying God?
If we look at the original Hebrew text, God didn’t say they would die physical death immediately. In fact, Young’s Literal translation gives us the correct translation for that verse 17.
Genesis 2:17 YLT
and of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou dost not eat of it, for in the day of thine eating of it — dying thou dost die.’
Pay attention to the word dying. It therefore means that the death that verse was talking about is a gradual death, starting with spiritual death (which means total alienation from God) and then their body started to mutate to usher in the process of physical death.
From that moment on, at every passing year, their body started to depreciate and age as against God’s original plan for man to live forever in cordial relationship with Him.
So, man sinned and man must pay for that sin but unfortunately, man has no prerequisites to make that payment of atonement in order to redeem themselves. The reason is because whoever must make atonement must be sinless. Again, all men have sinned. No one was qualified. Read Romans 3:23.
Therefore, God had to step in to do the job Himself, because of His Love for mankind. He didn’t want them to perish just like that and therefore, He did something remarkable to restore mankind back to Eden experience.
What did God do? We will find out shortly.
Whoever must pay for man’s sin has to become man. The reason again is because it was man that sinned not God and so, man must pay and man could not pay because we are all sinners and we needed an innocent man to do the job. To fulfil that requirement, God decided to transform Himself to become man.
The reason He needed to become man is this:
When He created the heaven and the earth, He already declared only man has the legal right to live on earth. Read Genesis 1:26-28.
In fact, in verse 28, God puts mankind and their descendants in charge of the earth. He commanded to live anywhere on earth, and bring everything under our control.
Please, note that God did not ask human beings to control their fellow human beings. Rather, God gave every human being the right to live on earth and dominate. This means that the same right and freedom I have on earth is what you (my readers) have. No one has the right to intimidate and control you.
Now that we know why God had to become man to do the job of redemption. The question again is:
Why blood?
The answer is right there in the Bible in Heb 9:22 that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission or forgiveness of sin.
So, God cannot break His word. To take man’s sins away, pure blood must be used.
Another reason blood had to be used and not water, soil or something else is because of what was written in Leviticus 17:11 KJVS
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Hmm… that’s deep.
The blood contains life. Only blood could redeem a life. Adam and Eve died both physically and spiritually the moment they disobeyed and to buy their lives back, blood needed to be shed and not just ordinary blood but a pure and innocent blood that only God Himself could have provided, because no man on earth could have made that provision. Rom 3:23.
And since all humans came from Adam and Eve, blood must also be shed for every human being for their forgiveness too, since we all inherited the nature of sin from Adam and Eve.
Hmm…it’s getting clearer now.
Now I see why God immediately killed animals and used their skins to cover Adam and Eve’s nakedness as a figurative expression of God’s salvation plan for the entire mankind.
Now, please pay attention…
Again, remember that God is Spirit (John 4:24) and Spirits don’t die. Spirits live forever, whether God’s Spirit or His Spirit that He breathed into humans. They don’t die.
That is why when someone dies here on earth, it’s not the person that dies. He simply returned the body he borrowed from the dust back to the dust while he himself continues to live till eternity as originally planned by God.
Hear me and hear me well: you are a spirit being that has a soul but live inside a body. You were made for eternity.
The reason you need a body is so that you can live legally on earth as originally declared by God in Genesis 1:26-28.
So, for God to come to the earth realm to solve man’s sin problem, He needed a body and that is why He planted His seed into Mary miraculously.
Lo and behold, Christ was born and He was called the Son of God. He then died, shed His blood and resurrected as a fulfilment of God’s Salvation plan.
That’s the end of the second manifestation of God.
Finally, we have the third dispensation in which God is now manifesting in the form of the Holy Spirit to carry out regeneration and growth process in the life of every believer. He didn’t have to come as a human being again. Rather, He wants to live inside every human being by virtue of His Holy Spirit and it is only those who give Him the chance in their lives that He will dwell in them.
So, we need the Holy Spirit to teach us all things and to reveal more of God’s nature to us so we can continue to live our lives in conformity to His nature. Jesus Christ Himself confirms this in John 14:26
John 14:25-26 TPT
I am telling you this while I am still with you. [26] But when the Father sends the Spirit of Holiness, the One like me who sets you free, he will teach you all things in my name. And he will inspire you to remember every word that I’ve told you.
In conclusion, we need to understand that there is only one God. He only decided to manifest in three different forms just for our sake in order to bring to pass His salvation plan that He designed from the beginning.
