Good day People of God in Christ Jesus. You are all welcome to another new day. We thank God for the gift of life.
In our today’s episode 564 of studying and understanding the Bible, we shall be looking into the book of Ezekiel Chapter 34 titled:
This Is Weird! Killing The Sheep Instead Of Caring For Them
Today’s message is purely centred on the activities of the corrupt shepherds of Israel. What were they doing?
They were busy taking care of themselves, but never tended the sheep put under their care.
They were busy drinking the milk produced by these sheep, wearing the clothes made from their wools, and then finally slaughtering them to eat their meat.
The above was a parable indicating that the religious leaders in Israel were the shepherds who were supposed to be taking care of the people (the sheep) under them.
They refused to take care of the weak ones.
They refused to provide healing to those who were sick.
They refused to bandage those who were hurt.
They refused to look for those who have wandered off and the lost.
Instead, they treated them cruelly.
As a result of these wicked activities, the sheep (the people), became preys to the devil. They became lost spiritually.
Hear what God said concerning them, He was going to relieve them of their duties and take over his people, because rescuing the sheep has become God’s utmost priority.
Are we experiencing the same thing in our dispensation?
Absolutely yes!
A lot of church leaders have deviated from the truth. They have refused to preach Kingdom message in order to lead people to the Kingdom of God.
They are rather milking out money and other resources from the pockets of these vulnerable and mostly ignorant members and giving them false hopes.
And when what was promised these members is not coming forth, they become depressed and majority of them resort to suicide missions.
Those who do not have the intestinal fortitude to commit suicide became atheists and claimed there is no God.
All these are happening because these shepherds have refused to preach the right messages.
What is the way out?
Let’s go back to the basics.
Let’s go back to Kingdom messages that Jesus Christ himself gave His Apostles, which were in turn handed over to us.
Let’s free our minds from religious bondage and be spiritually free. Remember, Jesus Christ did not preach religion and that is why religious leaders hated and killed Him.
